07 Dec Using Pledge Cards at Your Next Event
Pledge cards are a simple, excellent way to quickly and efficiently get supporters of your nonprofit to become repeat donors. Pledge cards are perfect to deploy at large events, as you can set up a station for people to fill them out then insert into a box for privacy. Or, if you’re holding a fundraising banquet, place a pledge card and pen at each seat.
You can create your own custom pledge card with Canva, Photoshop, Word, InDesign, or other software tools. Be sure to include:
- spaces for your supporters to write their name, address, email, and phone number.
- checkbox options for slightly aspirational pledge amounts—encouraging donors to give a little more than they might have otherwise—but also an empty blank for those who want to write in their own figure.
- checkbox options for donation frequency—typically weekly, monthly, or yearly.
- your organization’s name, logo, and website for donors who choose to take the card home with them and sign up for regular giving online.
At the bottom of the card, also provide options for additional relationship building and support opportunities. For example, you might include checkboxes for learning more about volunteer opportunities, providing in-kind donations, receiving your e-newsletter, and signing up for your text-to-give platform.
